Tae Kwon Do or Taekwondo is a Korean martial art, self-defense technique using the bare hands and feet. The name comes from the Korean words tae (foot, or kick), kwon (fist, or punch), and do (art, or way of life) and literally means “the art of hand and foot fighting.”

Students learn the fundamentals of taekwondo through choreographed sequences of combative moves, the breaking of boards or other materials, and two-person controlled sparring. They also receive instruction in principles such as courtesy, integrity, perseverance, and self-control.

Taekwondo training focuses on learning hand and feet techniques, bringing the mind and spirit into harmony, and improving one's mental and physical well being. Above all else, it stresses in cultivating patience and self-discipline through tough, repeated physical training.

Students will undergo successive level assessments to gain different colour belts signifying their ranks, starting with White Belt for Beginners.

All students are required to have their official PDS School Taekwondo uniform by purchasing from their school coach.
